ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN
Job Summary
The Assembly Technician position is responsible for assembly of fabricated and purchased parts to meet the specification required by CIT customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
This description represents the most significant job duties but does not exclude other work duties assigned or required but not mentioned.
Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Read and comprehend documents such as, fabrication drawings, bills of material or other project plans, orders or specification in the order
Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies
Clean and prepare part surfaces as specified to be contamination free
Assemble assigned projects as instructed
Adhere to ISO procedures
Report to supervisor on quality issues
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in the assembly process
Work effectively in a team environment
Documents actions by completing production and quality forms as required
Perform other duties as assigned

Authority
Employees are required to follow procedures, work instructions and operational processes. The potential consequences for non-compliance may result in an increased rejection rate at the Customer, increased internal scrap rate, delayed or late shipments, personal injury, and a negative impact on the environment.
All employees have the authority to stop production and contain nonconforming product. Significant quantities of nonconformances must be reported immediately to management.
This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in assembly process preferred
Ability to read and understand assembly drawings
Ability in using hand tools and power tools
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Consistent, quality technique, dependable performance and skilled attention to detail
Self-motivated individual that can perform with minimal supervision.
Maintains a safe and clean work area.
Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle.
Working Conditions / Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may work with or around chemicals that create a hazardous exposure which is defined on the accessible Safety Data Sheets; employee is exposed to moderate temperature changes over an eight-hour shift.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stand on ladders, kneel, bend down, and stretch; physically able to wear protective equipment on a regular basis as part of the sanding, prepping and painting process including respirator fit testing.
