Contract Industrial Tooling (CIT) was founded in 1987 by Kim Wuertemberger in Dayton, Ohio. Originally it was a two-person tool shop, working on light contract manufacturing. A few years later Kim moved CIT to Richmond, Indiana (his hometown) into the “L” Street facility. CIT began to expand offering manufacturing of custom steel shipping racks and containers to the Automotive industry. After adding additional facilities to the “L” Street Campus business had grown to the point that a new 118,000 square foot facility was built (current facility). CIT has continued to expand into other markets including CAB enclosures, Medical Therapy Tables and Lift Gates.
