History
Contract Industrial Tooling was started in 1987 by Kim Wuertemberger in Dayton Ohio as a 2 person tool shop, doing some light contract manufacturing. At the time Kim lived in Richmond Indiana and drove back and forth to Dayton. After a few years Kim found a suitable location in Richmond (our first building on “L Street” approximately 3000 sq. feet) and moved the company to his home town.
Once here through outside the box thinking and keeping technology at the forefront, the business began to expand by offering new products geared toward the steel shipping rack industry. CIT then began to actually build shipping racks and started to expand further by adding 2 additional buildings at the “L street” campus.
By 2003 CIT had grown so much that we were renting warehouse and manufacturing space in numerous locations so it was decided that it was time to design and build our own facility specifically for what we do.
In 2004 CIT moved into their new 120,000 sq ft facility with growth and technological advancement in mind.
In late 2009 CIT moved into the Physical Therapy table manufacturing business by updating our 10,000 sq. ft. facility on the “L” Street Campus. The CIT medical facility is the latest chapter in our growth story…and the rest is history.
